AIRO, is an interactive sustainability campaign designed to reward plastic-free travel. The acronym “AIR” stands for fresh air and clean movement, with the “O” symbolizing the ocean’s importance.
Traditional advertisements often fail to capture Gen Z’s attention or inspire change. While they are highly aware of plastic pollution’s environmental impact, most struggle to maintain sustainable habits due to a lack of engagement, feedback, and personal connection to the cause.
At Airo we reward travelers who reduce plastic waste through tech-driven incentives. By recycling through Airo’s vending machine, users earn direct monetary rewards via the Airo app—turning sustainable choices into tangible impact.

IDENTITY RATIONALE
THE VENDING MACHINE
The main deliverable, the Airo Vending Machine is designed for airports and nearby beaches.
Users can recycle plastic bottles in exchange for monetary rewards deposited directly to their bank accounts through scanning the machine, and downloading the AIRO app.
This system encourages responsible waste disposal while rewarding users for reducing plastic pollution, a unique approach compared to typical environmental campaigns.
